The ACE Shield is the perfect accessory for the most shooter friendly brake on the market, the ACE muzzle brake. The ACE Shield reduces blast and sound to the shooter and to anyone behind the muzzle. The ACE shield has no effect on the recoil properties of the brake and sits just behind the first port on the brake allowing gas to be directed outwards and upwards like normal.
The ACE Shield replaces the timing nut on the ACE muzzle brake. Because the design of the cone on the shield precludes the use of the normal timing set screws, we recommend using a thread locking compound between the shield and the brake. This allows the use of the hex key slot on the end of the brake to torque or remove the brake without the shield moving. Another option is to simply hold the shield in place with a strap wrench while torqueing the brake.
The first batch of ACE Shields are compatible with 5/8″ muzzle threads or smaller.
